For a long time GlassStories.art was for me a closed form: a story captured in words and images on glass. There was beauty in that, in the silence between sentences and in a static moment held inside a graphic composition.
A real story keeps moving, and mine began to move.
The first thing to change was the images. The earliest graphics were experiments, and the AI was only learning to cooperate with my imagination. Some looked like science-fiction comics, some like realistic 3D scenes, some like something between a dream and a technical illustration. Only after many months did a style appear that I recognize as my own.
It carries a little post-impressionism, a little symbolism, a touch of dark romanticism. Deep blue, ultramarine, black and reflections of gold dominate the palette. The light seems to pass through a layer of glass or a prism, and the scenes look like frames from a larger story that has not yet been fully told.
That was the first evolution.
The second came with sound. I realized that a microstory could be listened to as well as read, told aloud by a storyteller, so I added narration and a soundscape that builds the atmosphere while the storyteller speaks. The voice and the music are made with AI tools; I write the text, choose the voice and shape the sound until it fits the scene. Word, image and sound began to live together as three layers of one story.
The third step fascinated me most. From a still scene a looped video emerged, and the first time the light on my screen moved by itself I caught myself holding my breath. A short fragment of a world lives for a few seconds and begins again. It is something between an image and a film, between an illustration and a dream. I make these loops with AI video tools, from the images I have chosen, and I direct every one.
I already know this is not the end, because the next stage is planned. The scenes will outgrow a single looped moment and become micro-animations of the whole story: several scenes, several breaths of a world that exists for a moment and then disappears.
Is this what the future of literature looks like? I would not claim so much. I can say what is being built here.
Word.
Image.
Sound.
Movement.
All held in glass, from the printed card to the Hologlass.
