AI at the Creators Table

Monday, May 25, 2026

Many people ask me the same question: are the images of GlassStories.art made by artificial intelligence? The honest answer is yes, and the clause that follows matters more than the yes.

The stories are mine, from the first word to the last. Characters, worlds and conflicts, the mood of a scene and the symbolism of an image are decisions made in the writing. The images, the narration, the music and the film are made with AI tools, and I direct that work. I say what is to be seen, I choose from what comes back, and I decide when something is good enough to leave the studio.

When I try to see my scenes I need a visual partner. In the past that would have been an illustrator. Today it is an algorithm, and at times I feel that the two of us sit at one table, the screen slowly filling with another variation of the same corridor. I bring the story. The model brings an inexhaustible appetite for experimenting with form.

For me it is an extension of the brush, and the metaphor serves well enough. It allows someone who is no classical painter to paint. Still, a brush does not answer back, and this one does. So my role has grown closer to that of a curator: I hold the vision, I show it, I select, and I guard the quality. The tool does a great deal. It does not decide what the work is for.

Making tools that extend our bodies and minds seems to me one of the most human things we do, a way of bringing into the world what already lives in the imagination.

We do not always understand each other, the model and I. The first images were chaotic, with no style yet, only attempts. With time a coherence appeared: a palette, a play of light, a mood that I now recognize as the aesthetic of GlassStories.art.

There are people who say that AI will replace artists. I do not believe it, though I make no claim to know how the trade will change. A new tool has entered the workshop, and a tool needs someone with artistic sensibility to decide what is worth painting, and how.
